While trying to steal a car, JJ (George Segal), is caught by the Owner, Pram (Karen Black), who offers him a ride home. She falls in love with him overlooking his heroin addiction. JJ and his friend Billy Dynamite (Jay Fletcher) roam New York City scamming and stealing to pay for their next fix.
